Orange County Catholics have come to rely on Catholic Relief Services (CRS) as the trusted vehicle to donating funds in crisis situations, including those such as the migrant crisis in Europe. While the Church won’t hold a special diocesan collection, parishioners can donate individually (see information below).
Watch this video that conveys the great need.
Here is how CRS is ramping up to respond to the escalating refugee and migrant crisis, working alongside Church partners in Greece, Albania, Macedonia, Bulgaria and Serbia. Together they are providing immediate assistance with food, water, sanitation needs and medical care. CRS is also providing legal and translation services to help migrant families understand their rights and make informed decisions.
CRS is also providing support to more than 700,000 Syrian and Iraqi refugees in Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt, Turkey and Iraq affected by the crisis in the Middle East.
