Spring in Japan, the cherry blossom season, is a time of renewal and new beginnings.
During our sailing in the morning, a priest celebrated Mass aboard our cruise ship.
This photo was taken on Easter Sunday, April 5, 2026, in Nagasaki, Japan. In the afternoon, we visited Ōura Cathedral, the oldest standing Christian church in the country, also known as Minor Basilica of the Twenty-Six Holy Martyrs of Japan, which is built on a hill with spectacular views of the harbor. The property includes a courtyard to the left, and the former Latin seminary and archbishop’s residence have been converted into a Christian museum to the right.
