ANAHEIM — A new CIF-regulation softball and soccer field—once the site of a convent—was officially dedicated and blessed by Bishop Kevin Vann at Corneila Connelly School Jan. 12.
The new Sullivan-Henry Athletic Field is named for a beloved veteran teacher at Connelly, Timmerie Sullivan-Henry, who is currently in her 39th year of teaching physical education at the girls’ high school.
“It was an event that I will be grateful for the rest of my life,” said Sullivan Henry. “Some people get to dream a lifetime about working in a place where people value each other and get to teach what they are passionate about. I have been blessed to have a career so full of happiness that I wake up every morning and my dream becomes a reality.”
Bishop Vann celebrated a special Mass for the occasion in the school’s Gunther Auditorium, which was filled to capacity with students, faculty, staff, parents, board members and alumnae.
