MENTAL HEALTH SUMMIT TO BE HELD AT OUR LADY QUEEN OF ANGELS

Saddleback Church's Kay Warren to keynote

By Staff     3/8/2018

Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Newport Beach will be hosting a forum on March 15 to discuss how Orange County stakeholders are coming together to build the best mental health care system in the country.

More treatment options, a new philosophy and continuum of care, and real, concrete cooperation between faith communities, our first responders, our hospitals, our healers, our advocacy groups, our education system, and our citizens will result in a more compassionate and more effective system that will improve outcomes and save lives.

Kay Warren, national bestselling author and minister at Saddleback Church, will deliver the keynote address. Dr. Aaron Kheriaty, nationally known author and professor of psychiatry at UC Irvine will discuss the Church’s initiatives on mental health and bringing the community together.

John Leyerle of the Orange County affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness and Marshall Moncrief, the regional executive director of Mental Health at St. Joseph’s Health Care System will introduce Orange County’s new coalition on mental and behavioral health care, which is bringing together our hospitals, our governments, our faith communities, and other stakeholders to improve and expand services and support in Orange County.

Luke Maxwell, a survivor of suicide and leader of U Can’t Be Erased will tell his story of loss and redemption while Madeline Hall of CHOC will discuss childhood and youth mental prevention and early intervention initiatives.

All are invited. The event will be held at Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Newport Beach on March 15, 2018 beginning at 6:30 P.M. A Mass of Hope and Wellness will be held beforehand at 5:30 P.M. The address is 32046 Mar Vista Drive, Newport Beach, CA 92660. Please RSVP to (949) 644-0200.
