OUR LADY QUEEN OF ANGELS VOLUNTEERS HELP HABITAT FOR HUMANITY BUILD HOMES IN LA HABRA

By STAFF     7/22/2015

More than 15 volunteers from Our Lady Queen of Angels Church in Newport Beach joined workers from Habitat for Humanity on Saturday, July 16 for a full day of construction on a development of seven homes for limited income families.

The parishioners helped finish window ledges, added garage door trim, cut wood and removed cement, in addition to other tasks that marked the final stages of construction on the homes.

OLQA previously contributed to Habitat for Humanity home building projects in Irvine in 1998 and 1999. This year parishioners formed a special committee to collect donations and provide volunteers specifically dedicated to Habitat for Humanity projects. Future plans include participation in housing construction for veterans.

Habitat for Humanity has overseen the building of 186 homes for low-income families in Orange County over the past 26 years.
