ANNUAL CONFERENCE ON BUSINESS & ETHICS SET FOR MARCH 4

The 14th annual conference will feature Bishop Robert Barron and Wahoo’s CEO Wing Lam as keynote speakers

The Orange Catholic Foundation will once again bring together hundreds of Orange County business and community leaders who are committed to fostering the values of faith, integrity and service in business, at the 14th annual Conference on Business & Ethics. The morning event will be held March 4 at the Hilton Anaheim Convention Center from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m. The conference benefits Catholic elementary schools in Orange County.

Bishop Robert Barron, Auxiliary Bishop of Los Angeles and Wing Lam, CEO of Wahoo’s Fish Tacos, are featured keynote speakers. Rick Reiff, editor at large for the Orange County Business Journal and co-host of PBS SoCal’s weekly news program will emcee.

Bishop Barron has authored 11 books. He is a radio and TV personality and is a sought-after speaker. He is the founder of the very popular Word on Fire Catholic Ministry.

Wing Lam is CEO of the nationwide chain of Wahoo’s Fish Tacos restaurants, with more than 70 locations. His family’s foundation supports numerous charitable initiatives focused on ending hunger, caring for the environment and educational opportunities for children.

A highlight of the conference will be the presentation of the Farmers & Merchants Bank Lifetime Achievement Award. This year’s honoree is Father Robert J. Spitzer, S.J., Ph.D. Father Spitzer is a Jesuit priest, philosopher, physicist, educator, author, speaker, and retired president of Gonzaga University. He is founder and currently president of the Magis Center of Reason and Faith and president of the Spitzer Center of Ethical Leadership.

In addition, Bishop Kevin Vann will present the Bishop’s Award for Exemplary Business Integrity to Marie Gray, co-founder of St. John Knits and Rand Sperry, co-founder of Sperry Equities will receive this year’s award.

Presenting sponsors include Farmers and Merchants Bank and the Orange County Register.

To date, the Conference on Business & Ethics has raised more than $2 million for scholarships for students attending Catholic schools, according to the event website.
