THE POPE’S ENZO FERRARI IS A GIFT THAT KEEPS GIVING

By ROME REPORTS     8/24/2015

Pope John Paul II, in 1978, rode in a red Ferrari on his way to celebrate Mass, this after visiting the Italian automaker’s factory. He opted for the car rather than taking the popemobile. In 2005 he was given a red Enzo Ferrari that was auctioned off, with the money going to help those recovering from the 2004 South Asian tsunami. The $1 million price went to the victims, as the Pope requested, and the car has since been auctioned off again, this time for $6 million.
