GARDEN GROVE — A musical force of 300 singers and a full orchestra returned to the Christ Cathedral Campus Dec. 18 for the second annual performance of George Frideric Handel’s massive seasonal masterwork, “Messiah.”

Presented in the Arboretum, the concert featured solo singers from The Metropolitan Opera, Chicago Lyric Opera, San Francisco Opera, Opera Pacific and The Hollywood Bowl.

Chad Belinghieri, the producer and organizer of the event, programmed a selection of classic Christmas songs such as O Holy Night and The Little Drummer Boy for the first part of the program and followed with “Messiah” for the second act.

The massed choir included singers from Mater Dei High School, the choirs of Sts. Simon and Jude Church and Holy Family Cathedral, and the All-American Boys Choir.
