Rosary Academy announces Sean Basford as its new Assistant Head of School / Principal.
“The creation of the Assistant Head of School is the realization that Rosary Academy is growing and working to continue the tradition of academic excellence. This position requires a visionary leader with a collaborative leadership style,” said Shawna L. Pautsch, Head of School.
Rosary Academy is a Catholic, college-preparatory school for young women located within the Diocese of Orange and the suburban area of the city of Fullerton. Founded in 1965, the school has a tradition of fostering academic excellence, spiritual development, and the skills necessary for a fulfilled, well-balanced life. Rosary Academy is a ministry of the Catholic Church in the Diocese of Orange.
As the school’s new Assistant Head of School / Principal, Basford will be overseeing the daily operations of the school, serving as the leader of the faculty and of the school’s academic programs. He will provide leadership and support to faculty and staff as they sustain a thriving educational environment. By lived example, the Assistant Head of School/Principal assists the Head of School in the spiritual leadership of the school and in directing and maintaining the Catholic identity of the school.

Sean Basford brings over 20 years of experience in Catholic education, curriculum development, mentoring educators, and supporting students. He also brings a unique perspective of serving as founder, president, and teacher of standardized testing agencies and college consulting. From 1999 to most recently, Basford served as an instructor, Director of Educational Technology, and Assistant Principal of Academics & Curriculum at Santa Margarita Catholic High School.

I am eager to bring my skills and experience to Rosary Academy and work collaboratively with the school community to support Rosary Academy’s charism of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Orange,” said Basford.
Basford is a doctoral candidate in educational leadership and administration from Concordia University Portland. Prior to his doctoral studies, he received is Masters of Arts in Education with an emphasis in Technology and Learning from United States International University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, Computer Science, and Education from University of California, Irvine.
