PSA STARTING OFF STRONG

2015 PASTORAL SERVICES APPEAL PLEDGES TOTAL $3.4 MILLION SO FAR

By Staff     3/19/2015

When you make a donation for a specific purpose to the Church or other nonprofit entity, that gift becomes legally restricted and may only be used for the intended purpose. Bishop Vann and your pastor are bound by civil and Church law to honor restrictions placed on gifts by you, the donors.

For example, your gift to the Pastoral Services Appeal (PSA) is restricted only for the 11 ministries, scholarships and services set forth in the PSA promotional materials for the 2015-16 year and for your own parish’s rebate project. Those diocese-wide ministries and services are listed in the Proud to be Catholic ~ Living Our Faith brochure available at all parishes as well in more detail on the Orange Catholic Foundation website at www.orangecatholicfoundation.org.

The PSA, which raises funds for the coming year’s ministry budgets or scholarships for parishes and schools, has been actively kicking off in all parishes and centers these first three months of 2015. We are happy to report strong support so far with over $3.4 million pledged and $1.5 million paid to date. Our goal is to reach $11.6 million in pledges and $10.7 million in payments for 2015. If you have not yet made your 2015 PSA pledge, there is a Proud to be Catholic pledge envelope inserted in this issue of the Orange County Catholic for your convenience with a return address included. Or you can make your gift online at www.orangecatholicfoundation.org. Pledges may be paid through December 2015.
