NEW HOME FOR FOOD PANTRY

By Staff     11/20/2019

For nearly 28 years needy families in the community of Rancho Santa Margarita have depended on the Solano Catholic Food Pantry for support. The pantry, formerly located a few miles from the church, is now located on the campus of San Francisco Solano Church in Rancho Santa Margarita. Last month the pantry’s new location was blessed by Father Duy Le, administrator at the church.

According to Christine Ocampo, the pantry’s coordinator, “The food pantry serves over 100 families in the local community per week.” It stocks non-perishable food items including canned goods, pasta, cereal, peanut butter, beans, rice and more. “We also order fresh produce on a weekly basis for a farmer’s market-style pantry providing milk, eggs, tortillas, lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, apples and other items,” Ocampo said.

The Solano Catholic Food Pantry distributes food every Saturday between 9 and 11 a.m. For more information: 949-812-1143
