50 YEARS SINCE POPE SAID FIRST MASS IN A LANGUAGE OTHER THAN LATIN

This Saturday, at All Saints Parish in Rome, Pope Francis will mark the 50th anniversary of the first Mass said by a pope in a language other than Latin. On the same day in the same church, five decades earlier, Pope Paul VI celebrated the first public Mass and alternatived speaking Italian and Latin.
