The Island Hotel in Newport Beach was the site of the Ruby Gala, celebrating 40 years of providing support and resources to more than 6,000 expectant mothers in need in Orange County.
Some 350 supporters attended the Oct. 21 event and the nonprofit raised more than $200,000 that will fuel the support services Casa Teresa provides to mothers and their babies. The residential program offers welcoming shelter, educational and training programs and helps women become independent and self-supporting.
“It was an amazing event. We were thrilled to celebrate with our Casa Teresa family of donors, supporters and volunteers. We were deeply touched by the outpouring of love and support and are so excited for what lies ahead in 2017,” said Lisa Wood, Casa Teresa CEO.
Sponsors include Regina and Richard Hunsaker, the J.W. and Sandra L. Mitchell Charitable Fund and a host of other patrons.
