If one of your goals in 2018 is to re-engage with your faith, consider attending the next OC Catholic Book Club Author Focus Event. You’ll meet John Allen, Vatican journalist and the editor of CRUX. Allen has co-authored a book with one of the most-followed Catholics on social media (second only to the pope), Bishop Robert Barron.

On Thursday, Feb. 1, the book “To light a fire on the earth: Proclaiming the gospel in a secular age,” co-written by Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of L.A. Bishop Barron and John Allen, will be the topic of discussion. The Author Focus event will be held at 6:30 p.m. in the Freed Theater of the Cultural Center at Christ Cathedral.

According to the event webpage: “Touching on everything from Jesus to prayer, science, movies, atheism, the spiritual life, the fate of Church in modern times, beauty, art, and social media, Barron reveals why the Church matters today and how Catholics can intelligently engage a skeptical world.”
