Pope Francis landed moments ago at Joint Base Andrews in Washington D.C.
Here’s the updated itinerary for his U.S. visit (times are EST):
Tuesday, Sept. 22
4 p.m. – Pope Francis lands at Joint Base Andrews and will be greeted by President Obama.
Wednesday, Sept. 23
9:15 a.m. – Pope Francis arrives at the White House for a meeting with President Obama. He will be just the third pope to visit the White House.
11:30 a.m. – U.S. Bishops will be led in prayer by Pope Francis at St. Matthew’s Cathedral.
4:15 p.m. – Pope Francis will canonize Father Junipero Serra, the first saint to be canonized in America. The Spanish mass for 25,000 will be held at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception.
Thursday, Sept. 24
10 a.m. – In a joint session, the Senate and House will hear one of just four speeches the Pope will deliver in English. The speech will be broadcast live on the Capitol’s West Front.
11:15 a.m. – The Pope will be greeted by St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and Catholic Charities. The Pope will bless food that will be served to the poor and homeless.
4 p.m. – The Pope leaves Washington D.C. and heads to New York, arriving at John F. Kennedy International Airport, arriving at 5 p.m.
6:45 p.m. – The Pope will hold a prayer service at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York City.
Friday, Sept. 25
8:30 a.m. – Pope Francis meets with the United Nations General Assembly.
11:30 a.m. – The Pope arrives at the 9/11 Memorial Museum and conducts an interreligious service.
4 p.m. – Our Lady Queen of Angels School greets the Pope Francis in East Harlem.
5 p.m. – The Pope makes his way through Central park. 80,000 are expected.
6 p.m. – The Pope celebrates Mass at Madison Square Gardens.
Saturday, Sept. 26
8:40 a.m. – Pope Francis departs New York and heads to Philadelphia.
9:30 a.m. – The Pope lands at Atlantic Aviation.
10:30 a.m. – The Pope celebrates Mass at Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul.
4:45 p.m. – Independence Mall is the next stop for Pope Francis where he will see the Liberty Bell and other sites.
7:30 p.m. – Pope Francis holds a prayer vigil at the World Meeting of Families.
Sunday, Sept. 27
9:15 a.m. – U.S. Bishops meet with Pope Francis just outside Philadelphia at St. Martin’s Chapel.
11 a.m. – The Pope visits a men’s prison in Philadelphia, the Curran-Fromhold Correctional Facility.
4 p.m. – Mass at the World Meeting of Families.
8 p.m. – Pope Francis leaves the U.S. and heads back to Rome.
