GET YOUR CRS RICE BOWL

By Armando Cervantes     2/10/2021

Every Lenten season for many years, a number of Diocese of Orange schools, parishes and ministry groups participate in the Catholic Relief Services’ annual CRS Rice Bowl initiative, a yearly effort to bring awareness about world hunger through activities, stories, reflections and prayer.

This year will be no different, except it will be all done virtually. There are various opportunities available online, in both Spanish and in English, to learn and pray and grow and as a family or together as a ministry.

Some of the virtual events during this Lenten program include:

ASH WEDNESDAY REFLECTION: FEBRUARY 17

On Ash Wednesday, join our Facebook Live event as we reflect on the meaning of Lent and answer kids’ questions about the season. Visit the CRS Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/CatholicReliefServices) for more information.

STORIES OF HOPE: SCHOOL SPEAKER EVENTS

These events will feature speaker s representing CRS’ work in Madagascar and El Salvador. CRS’ speakers will dive deeper into the CRS Rice Bowl Stories of Hope, share their own stories and offer a peek into what it is like to live in the countries highlighted by CRS Rice Bowl. Students will have the chance to submit questions in advance of the event to be answered by the speaker.

FAMILY PRAYER EVENING (SPANISH): MARCH 18
