The 16th annual Conference on Business and Ethics, an Orange Catholic Foundation event, will feature Cardinal Timothy Dolan of New York as its keynote speaker. Fr. Dave Dwyer, host of “The Busted Halo Show,” will be master of ceremonies. Fr. Dwyer also co-hosts the weekly program “Conversations with Cardinal Dolan,” which airs on many Catholic television stations.
The morning event, held this year at the Hotel Irvine, draws more than 1,000 business and community leaders from all over the region and has been rated the Best Nonprofit Business Breakfast Event” in Orange County by the Orange County Business Journal.
In addition to an engaging keynote presenter, several coveted awards are presented each year. This year Mater Dei High School Football Coach Bruce Rollinson will be the recipient of the Farmers & Merchants Bank Lifetime Achievement Award. Rollinson, who attended Mater Dei, and has been the school’s football coach since 1989.
Also to be lauded at the event are two men who will receive the Bishop’s Award for Exemplary Business Integrity: Tim Buckley, CEO, Vintage Design and Tim Strader, Chairman, Starpointe Ventures. Buckley and Strader are both members of Our Lady Queen of Angels in Newport Beach.
While the conference is a highly anticipated forum for a faith-based community of business and community leaders, the goal of the event is to raise funds that will provide financial aid for students within the Diocese of Orange who want to attend Catholic school, but for whom tuition is a hardship.
