OC Catholic traveled to Atlantic City, New Jersey, this summer for the annual Catholic Media Conference and Awards, where it took home a first-place win for Best Diocesan Weekly.
Built in 1870, the Atlantic City Boardwalk currently spans 4 miles and is the longest boardwalk in the world. It was originally built to prevent sand from drifting into beachfront hotels and businesses. A bit of American pop culture: Atlantic City inspired the board game Monopoly and is the birthplace of saltwater taffy.
